Life At Laguna Seca

Life here at the race track has been nice and quiet. The views are still amazing and every week there is always a new set of cars racing around. The noises from the gun range and from the track get tuned out and  we often forget that they exist. Id like to tell you how extremely busy I've been here as a camp host while Ben is at work. I'd also love to tell you about how welcoming and friendly the other camp host are but truthfully I haven't done anything here and a few of the other camp host we haven't met. I had this image of all the camp host being like a happy family but it's been far from that.

I went down to the Kiosk for a day and met Kathryn. I spent about 5 1/2 hours with her observing what she did and learning how to work the Kiosk.  It all seemed pretty easy until then end of the day when all the camping fees and credit card stuff had to be "batched" and cashed out. I was told that the system was going to be redone beginning of the year so my learning the computer had been a waste of time.  I was hoping to learn the stuff so that I could be used as a sub but because there are 3 ladies who work in there I probably won't be needed. So I've been just hanging out working on my crafts. We are hoping that once Ben is done working he can find a "man" job around here.  I kind of feel bad living here for free and not really doing anything but we've tried to get some guidance and the communication here is null and void!

As the weeks pass by we've been continuously adding stuff to the trailer to improve it and add more storage.  We first bought 4 lockers from IKEA and arranged them so we have ample storage and a little shelf where we placed our tiny Christmas Tree.
This has been great to store little odds and ends.

Another upgrade we installed was some hanging buckets  (also from IKEA) to the "bathroom" sink area.
Not only is this super cute but it also added some extra storage. Our medicine cabinet had been busting at the seams.

One thing we really needed were proper curtains. We gave the fabric from the room divider to my mother in law Jaci and she made us beautiful curtains! We absolutely love them and have privacy with these.  We can now have the back window opened all day.

Our most recent upgrade in the kitchen was adding a tile back splash. Here are before and after pictures.
We were finally able to put up our magnetic knife bar which comes in very handy in a small space. Having the tiles makes the area feel like a real kitchen. It was a quick job to attach the "tic tac tiles".

Nothing else to report from Laguna Seca. May you all have a Merry Christmas and we hope you continue to follow us on our journey  in 2018!! Benny retires Dec 15!!
